WELCOME TO ABRUZZO
A land that is friendly to the vine

There is a number of factors that make the Frentane hills particularly devoted to viticulture: the clay-limestone soil, the air currents, the considerable temperature variations. Here the berry can develop healthily, rich in aromas, with peculiar and typical characteristics. Alongside the traditional Abruzzo vines, such as Montepulciano, Pecorino, Cococciola, other important ones grow perfectly here, such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot or Pinot Grigio, which obtain a distinct character from the terroir. Where Fontamara wines are born, the earth has been a friend of the vine for centuries.

Abruzzo
BETWEEN THE MOUNTAINS AND THE SEA
To the west stands the Maiella, with its imposing mass covered in snow until spring. To the east, in the distance, on clear mornings you can clearly perceive the sparkle of the sea. Right in the middle are our hills. Protected by the mountains, freshened by the sea, they have always been the temple of the vine.
A world of wine
BETWEEN PRESENT AND PAST
The Abruzzo wine tradition finds its roots far back in time, in an era even prior to the ancient Romans. The cultivation and winemaking techniques, handed down from generation to generation, have received a great technological boost in recent decades. Today Abruzzo is one of the main wine regions of Italy.
Traditional cuisine
IN THE KINGDOM OF PASTA
Wine suffers from loneliness and is enhanced instead by the company of good food. Gastronomic Abruzzo is a true paradise, where you can range from meat to fish, with pasta as a leitmotif. With the favour of crystal clear mountain water, some of the most renowned pasta factories in Italy and the world lie here.
